3. All About Autumn
I want to tell you all about Autumn,
That’s another name for fall.
It begins at the end of September,
When the days are short and the trees are tall.
Autumn is a time to change the clocks,
We fall an hour behind.
We get an extra hour to sleep at night,
‘Cause that’s what happens when we rewind.
I want to tell you all about Autumn,
That’s another name for fall.
It begins at the end of September,
When the days are short and the trees are tall.
Autumn is a time for Halloween,
Wearing costumes while we trick-or-treat.
Walking around our neighborhood,
Collecting so much candy to eat.
I want to tell you all about Autumn,
That’s another name for fall.
It begins at the end of September,
When days are short and the tree are tall.
Autumn is a time for Thanksgiving,
Let’s be thankful for the food on our plate.
And all of the good things in our lives,
With our family, we celebrate.
I want to tell you all about Autumn,
That’s another name for fall.
It begins at the end of September,
When the days are short and the trees are tall.
4. Old McDonald Had A Farm
5. Fall
1. Way Up High
Way up high in the apple tree (hands above head)
Two little apples smiled at me (form apples with hands still raised)
I shook that tree as hard as I could (shaking motion)
Down came the apples (drop hands)
Yummmmmm. Were they good! (rub stomach)
1. Leaf Up!
Children should be gathered up in groups of 2-3, and teachers or the chosen child tosses a leaf into the air. The children can touch it and toss the leaf with any body part except their hands! This encourages movement of the whole body in very creative and funny ways.
2. Nature walk.
Collect gatherings in paper bag.
Go on a nature walk around the playground gathering items for classifying, or encourage parents to take the children on a nature walk at home and bring in items from their family walk. Ask the children to brainstorm various ways the items can be sorted: color, shape, size, texture (stiff or flimsy….advanced language), animal, vegetable, or mineral, etc. Engage children in using scientific tools like bug boxes, tweezers, magnifying glasses, and microscopes when gathering and sorting objects. Provide opportunities for children to be creative outside, using items from nature as a paint brushes and collage materials.
Dance and Freeze
Play music and encourage children to get up and dance, then children must freeze when the music stops.
