1. 5 Little Speckled Frogs (This can also cover themes for Water, Camping, Summer, Nursery Rhymes, Creative Movement, Frogs, etc.)(Also, remember this can be changed to fit needs of other topics over time such as changing the frogs to pumpkins for fall theme, monkeys to jungle theme and apply the same method) ​ 

Open Ended Questions to ask children during activity: 

How do you think the frogs feel when they jump into the nice, cool water? 

 When you jump into the pool or lake how do you feel? How does a frog catch a fly? 

How do you catch a fly? 

How is a frog's tongue different from your tongue? 

Why do you think their tongue is sticky? 

Frogs can jump; how do you jump?

 Let's predict (guess) how high and how far you can jump How do you dance (Creative Movement section below)? ​

How do you think frogs dance (Creative Movement section below)?

Creative Movement Lesson: Post paper in a sheet protector with these questions written on them that way you can write children's responses then wipe off and reuse for next topic. ​What do we Know about Creative Movement? What do we Want to learn about Creative Movement? What did we Learn about Creative Movement? 

Creative Movement Web: with Creative Movement in the middle then draw lines extending out to these different items that relate to creative movement (then record children's responses): 

Accessories (ex. of children responses: ballet shoes, tap shoes, costumes, make-up) Feelings (ex. of children responses: happy, sad, angry, surprised) Dancers (ex. of children's responses: ballet, tap, jazz, social, folk, modern, street dancing) Body Movements (ex. of children's responses (twist, slide, wave arms, yoga, can dance alone, with partner or group) Sound Sources (ex. of children responses: record player, tape recorder, compact disc player, drums, guitar, rhythm sticks, drums)

. People can dance to music 

2. The record player, tape recorder, compact disc player, and drums are all sound sources used for dance. 

3. The guitar, rhythm sticks, and band are also sound sources for creative movement. 

4. Dancing and moving can be done alone, with a partner, or in a group. 

5. Our bodies can move in many different ways.

 6. Ballet, tap, jazz, and social are some types of dances.

 7. Happy, sad, angry, and surprised are feelings that can be expressed through dance.

 8. There are many types of dances. 

9. Some dancers wear special costumes and make-up. 1
